About Me

Hi Guys!

My name is Abhishek Sharma and I’m an SAP FICO Consultant having more than 6 years of experience having worked on project implementations, roll-outs, and support.

My Tech Story

I always had a passion to try things related to new technology and I remember how I used to upgrade my skills while sitting in the dorm room of my hostel. During my free time, I would take the requirements from the client and would design the websites for them as a part-time gig. That time, I ventured into starting a technology blog and I ran it for 2 years before I got burdened by the work pressure and closed it. And soon enough, I got a campus placement with an SAP FICO profile from one of the renowned IT services firm.

My SAP Journey

I started my SAP journey in 2014 immediately after completing my MBA course. My first project was in SAP ECC and for the automobile industry. There I implemented SAP DBM (Dealer Business Management) and learned about ‘Cashdesk‘ finance tool. After completing this project, I switched the job and got into one of the Big-Four firms. I stayed there for a short period and worked on only one S/4 HANA implementation but the learning was massive. I was the only resource looking after the SAP FICO processes and got the opportunity to work on the CO module majorly Product Costing and Profitability Analysis (COPA) processes.

The learning continued for the next few years and in 2019 I was allowed to work on a Central Finance (CFIN) project for one of the prominent US-based FMCG firms. I was delighted since it would be the first time I would learn how to replicate master as well as transaction data from legacy systems to a CFIN system based on top of S/4 HANA. Within 3-4 months, I got hold of various processes within CFIN, like Value Mapping, Key Mapping, Initial Load, Replication, etc, and in one year, implemented CFIN for the first time. Since client requirements were complex and were not getting fulfilled with the standard solution, I implemented the CFIN BADI to design a custom solution based on their preference. The learning is still going on, as they say ‘You always have to up-skill yourself in this competitive market‘.
